Voor een internationale klant in de regio Maastricht zijn we op zoek naar een Senior BI & Databricks Specialist met een sterke combinatie van business inzicht, data-architectuur en hands-on technische expertise.

Je komt terecht in een internationale data- en analyticsomgeving waar BI, Data Engineering en Data Science samenkomen. Je vertaalt complexe business behoeften naar schaalbare data- en BI-oplossingen en neemt een belangrijke rol op in het bepalen van architectuur, standaarden en best practices.

Challenges

• Strategische businessbehoeften vertalen naar schaalbare BI- en Data Science-architecturen
• Ontwerpen van enterprise-grade BI-oplossingen, datamodellen en analytics architecturen
• Uitwerken en bewaken van standaarden rond data modelling, governance, security en solution design
• Vormgeven en prioriteren van de analytics roadmap samen met stakeholders
• Ontwerpen en optimaliseren van end-to-end dataflows binnen een Data Warehouse/Lakehouse omgeving
• Technische richting geven aan BI Developers, Data Engineers en Data Scientists
• Complexe SQL- en Databricks-oplossingen reviewen en optimaliseren
• Samenwerken met Product teams, Business Analysts en architecten binnen een SAFe Agile omgeving
• Adviseren rond nieuwe functionaliteiten, integratiepatronen en verbeteringen binnen het BI- en datalandschap

Must haves

• Minimaal 9 jaar ervaring binnen Business Intelligence, Data Analytics en/of Data Engineering
• Minimaal 8 jaar hands-on BI-ervaring
• Uitstekende en aantoonbare Databricks-kennis
• Sterke ervaring met Power BI
• Advanced SQL
• Grondige kennis van Data Warehouse/Lakehouse- en ETL/ELT-architecturen
• Ervaring met dimensioneel modelleren, semantic layers, governance en enterprise security
• Ervaring met cloud data platforms zoals Azure en/of AWS
• Grondige kennis van SAFe Agile

Wie ben je en wat kan je

Je bent een senior data- en BI-professional die verder kijkt dan dashboards en rapportering. Je begrijpt zowel de businesscontext als de onderliggende technische architectuur en kunt complexe behoeften vertalen naar duurzame oplossingen.

Je hebt ervaring met Power BI, Databricks, SQL en moderne cloud data-architecturen. Daarnaast heb je affiniteit met Data Science en AI/ML, waaronder machine learning, data mining en LLM-gerelateerde toepassingen.

Je communiceert vlot met zowel technische als niet-technische stakeholders, behoudt het overzicht over verschillende teams en initiatieven en bent sterk in stakeholdermanagement. Je werkt gestructureerd, bent analytisch en neemt graag een adviserende rol op.

Een master in Engineering, Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics of een gelijkaardige richting is gewenst.

Challenges

• Translate strategic business needs into scalable BI and Data Science architectures
• Design enterprise-grade BI solutions, data models and analytics architectures
• Define and safeguard standards for data modelling, governance, security and solution design
• Shape and prioritize the analytics roadmap together with key stakeholders
• Design and optimize end-to-end data flows within Data Warehouse/Lakehouse environments
• Provide technical guidance to BI Developers, Data Engineers and Data Scientists
• Review and optimize complex SQL and Databricks solutions
• Collaborate with Product teams, Business Analysts and Architects within a SAFe Agile environment
• Advise on new functionalities, integration patterns and improvements across the BI and data landscape

Must haves

• Experience with cloud data platforms such as Azure and/or AWS
• Strong knowledge of SAFe Agile

Who are you and what can you bring?

You are a senior data and BI professional who looks beyond dashboards and reporting. You understand both the business context and the underlying technical architecture and can translate complex requirements into scalable and sustainable solutions.

You have strong experience with Power BI, Databricks, SQL and modern cloud data architectures. You also have an affinity with Data Science and AI/ML, including machine learning, data mining and LLM-related applications.

You communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, maintain a helicopter view across different teams and initiatives, and are strong in stakeholder management. You are structured, analytical and comfortable taking on an advisory role.

A Master's degree in Engineering, Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics or a related field is preferred.
